Days after decamping from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), with his followers, Mr Hameed Idowu, popularly called ‘Collaboration’, has received the APC flag.
Idowu was a former Councillorship and aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency II seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
He received the APC flag on Monday, during the Ikorodu Constituency Campaign rally organized by the Local Organising Committee (LOC), APC Ikorodu Division, at the Ikorodu Local Government Open Ground at Ita – Elewa, Ikorodu.
He was welcomed into the party and presented with the flag by Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Basorun, presenting the flag, said that the party has accepted Idowu and his group members into the APC with the flag.
“Some of our children from Ward C2, Ikorodu Local Government, who were members of PDP before, have decided to join us. Yesterday, they went to the LGA to register and for recognition and today, we have decided to give them the flag of APC”, Basorun said.
“Their leader is Hameed Idowu who will be the one to receive the flag on their behalf because the stage can’t accommodate everyone”.
The former Secretary to the State Government informed the large crowd that the leader of the team crossing over to APC, is the son of a popular Councilor in the old Ikorodu Local Government.
“Few of us that are aware of the politics in Ikorodu Division will know who his father is. If you know Councilor Made Mare, Hon. Olatoye Idowu who served as Councilor several times and was one of the leaders then, but now late. This is his child and his child wants to continue the success of his father”, Asiwaju Basorun recalled.
“I call on Hameed Idowu to come and collect the party’s flag now. As you join our party today, I pray that you and your followers will make a success of it, thank you”, he added.
